I was horrified this morning as my son scanned through the images on the computer in the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. I could not believe the images that had been captured on our computer. Someone told me that all types of advertisements and whatever could be there. I wanted to know how to clean out such images and/or video that may have stored itself on my computer.
I looked through the files on the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer but I did not see how to clean it.
Thanks beforehand for any answers.

First, go to Tools --> Internet Options and Delete Files...

This will clear out your temporary Internet files (where most of those images you are talking about are stored).

Second, with that same box open, click on the Advanced tab at the end, and scroll down to Security. Check the box that says Empty Temporary Internet Files when browser is closed.

As a third option, get a program called Windows Washer which (among other things) can do this automatically for you and really scrub your system.

ccleaner is another program that can clean out those files for you and is free.

I've seen that happen on peoples computers before. What I usually do is start by deleting all of the internet files and cookies (right click on internet explorer and go to properties).

Then I just do a search for various image files (*.jpg, *.gif, etc) or if you have the name of the image just search for it, and you should be able to find where they are hiding. Delete them all.

if you can trace where all these pictures are going, you can go to that folder and delete them all! you may want to make this a daily or weekly thing so you do accumulate lots of stuff. also, in your internet browser if you go to tools->internet options, there is an area where you can delete all offline content and delete all files/cookies. so if you just delete everything it will get rid of everything that has collected on your computer from a website. this has worked for me!
i hope this helps!

Images from websites that you visit are stored on your computer to allow faster reloading of the pages. You should occassionally delete them. I imagine you found where your computer has gone and found it rather lacking in apparel.

So, delete your temporary internet files
(Tools > Options > Internet Options, click button to delete temporary internet files)
