My grandparents asked me to take some old silverware, and sort them out. They've told me that they would like to sell it. Some of this sillverware dates back to the 1800s. How would I price them, and order them? Also how should I find the dates that it was made or used?

Some of them do have numbers on them. One actually had a date: December 28, 1915.

The Hallmark always dates and shows the place of origin. Especially if it is English.

Get a book of hallmarks or check out the antiques section in your bookstore or library.

Get a book (at the library) that shows old silversmith marks. That will decode the maker and the date it was made, After that you could check on line for like pieces and price accordingly.
