What are some pressing issues facing Michigan?

I have an assignment to do and I don't know about politics and stuff so I need some major issues facing michigan. Thanx!

Look at the tremendous job losses in Michigan. And all the empty homes around the Detroit area. And the racial discrimination stuff concerning the Michigan universities.

But really, many issues are the same as many other states (big issues like the war, etc.).

The collapse of the auto industry, unemployment, real estate market in the toilet....
poor Michigan has a whole host of problems right now
