I am currently taking PRIMACARE prenatal vitamins. Is it better to take prenatal vitamins in the morning or in the evening before going to sleep?

Oh do I know this one. Before bed!! My reason for this is that I had terrible morning sickness throughout my pregnancies. I tried everything. One thing that worked a bit was taking my prenatal vitamins before bed. The reason being that they contain quite a bit of iron--which u need, but can make your stomach uneasy. So if you have morning sickness, anytime of the day sickness--take it before bed, with some food. Otherwise it does not matter when you take them as long as you take it. Enjoy!

whichever you want, just try to take them around the same time every day, so that it becomes part of a certain routine and you are less likely to forget. Some people find that the level of iron makes them more nauseus, so they take them at night when it is less likely to affect them. That's why the new prenatal vitamins with a separate one for morning and evening have the iron one in the evening.

I would say that it is best to take them in the morning, unless they make you sick! Some women have problems taking the prenatal vitamins and keeping them down. If that is the case you could take them at night.

It probably doesn't really matter when you take them, as long as you do.
Best of luck!

I always took mine in the morning b/c it gave me the vitamins I needed to get through the day. Since you use most of the nutrients in the vitamins mostly throughout the day, it's better to stock up on them in the morning.

I don't know - the bottle just says take with food. However, I always took mine in the morning. You know how people say breakfast is the most important meal of the day... well, I figured my body needed the nutrients in the morning to get me and baby going for the day the same way you need breakfast in the morning.

That depends upon you. Do you have morning sickness? In general, it is advised to take vitamins with food because they might cause nausea. If you don't have a problem with an upset stomach, then you can take them any time.

I don't think it really matters as long as you are taking them. I tried taking mine in the morning but would get really sick so I started taking them at night right before going to sleep and that way I didn't feel the need to get sick. I would ask your doctor thought he may tell you different.

Whichever won't make you nauseous! I hand to stop taking them all together because they just made me so sick. I don't think it particularly matters what time of day or night. Make sure you have plenty of OJ and water during the day and take the vitamins with food, often that helps you digest them better.

i don't think it matters when you take them, as long as you take them regularly. for me, i had a difficult time with morning sickness, and taking the vitamins made it worse, and i usually couldn't keep them down if i took them in the morning, so i took them at night before bed.

I would think it would be better to take them in the morning.

When I was pregnant with both of my kids I always took mine in the mornings.
