I'm moving close to Seton Hall from Arizona and I want to know what to expect- is there anything i should know about south orange history/culture that is common knowledge to everyone there? whats the popular music, clothes, hair styles? what do people do for fun?

South Orange used to a very affluent community, it still has some good areas but its very close to other surrounding area like orange east orange and irvington which is the blood capitol of new jersey, depending on whom you choose to hand with and what you are into, it you like rap hip hop it is a good base for urban wear, if you are more laid back them you must be a lo head,,(polo) It can very very ruff in that area just depends on where you are, they have good mixed with bad. Just make sure you stay away from irvington...there have been 9 deaths from shooting in newark nj from the beginning of the new year, the new mayor mr booker is trying to make a change but again just a caution,it is heavely populated with gangs, mostly bloods.....seton hall is a great school, have a friend who graudated from that school, if you join a frat just ask some of your buddies that have been in that area awhile to give you some guidence where to stay away from......good luck

They are pretty much like people in Arizona -- except they have funny accents.
