There is nothing wrong with masturbation, unless it brings on feelings of guilt. But you just posted that you caught her having sex. You should have been happy with the masturbation.

Kind of a toughie.....she is old enough that she should have experimented with this years ago, but perhaps she is finding out that different things feel good as she explores her pubescent body and all of its glorious changes. Chances are it is just innocent and she is feeling things that she enjoys. Do not embarrass her by walking in on her or telling her that you are aware of what she is doing ~ that could do more harm than good. If you haven't done so already, now may be a good time to have "the talk" but do so in a way that is natural and on her level. By doing so, you make it something she is comfortable talking to you about which will make those teen years much less worrisome for you!

Nothing, just talk to her about sex and let her know that if she needs to talk or get on the pill or ever needs condoms then you are there for her. She is going to masturbate just be glad you didn't find her doing something else like sleeping with a guy.

How do you know she masturbates, do you not give her privacy?

Anyway, I think you can answer this on your own, what are you supposed to do?
Nothing. Let her be.
Now, if she starts having sex with a squirrel, then that's weird, tell me that ****.
Masturbation is normal, safe, and, well, good.

Nothing. It's her body, not yours. Is this the biggest "crisis" you've ever faced raising a child? Thank God for your blessings and make sure your daughter has all the privacy she needs.

If she does it obsessively or in public then seek your doctor's advice. If you just caught her once get over it, it's a normal part of growing up. She is probably going through puberty and noticing changes in her body... As I said before if it's obsessive or in public it could be a sign of something else and you should call the doctor.

Well you said earlier you didn't want you daughter having sex well now she masturbating to chanell that sexual energy....personally I rather my daughter basturbating then acturally having sex....it's alot safer cuz there's no threat of an STD or pregnecy!!!

So don't worry about her masturbating worry about her having sex!!!

Its normal for them to experiment with themselves at that age. I would just make sure to have a good talk with her about sex. Also don't make her feel like it is a bad thing when it is a natural part of puberty.

Be happy she is only doing that. She is not one of the girls on here saying she missed her period and is wondering if she is pregnant.
As long as she knows how to please herself, there are no questions as to how it feels.
It is natural. If she was your 12 yr old son would you be as worried? Leave her be, you can't beat natures instinct for us to do things that make us feel good (like eating chocolate :) )

uhm...its pretty normal. dont get mad at her just tell her its better than sex at her age. (at least shes getting the sexual satifaction that she wants and is still a virgin, thats actually a good sign) if she doesnt masturbate then she will go to sex. and thats bad
