I assume you are wanting to work with pets. If so, first apply at your local veterinarians' offices. Try the veterinarian you use for your own pet(s).

You may need to volunteer your services at first in order to get your foot in the door. You can also get experience at your local ASPCA or Humane Society.

If you cannot get anything but volunteer work, be honest with the agency and say you want to get some experience so you can make a decision as to what you want to do.

For example, what animals do you want to work with? Dogs, cats, birds, etc?

You can be a vet's assistant, an animal groomer, take care of pets when their humans are on vacation, answer the phone at the vet's office, or be a marketer for pet products at veterinarian's offices.

If you want to work with wildlife, Google "wildlife rescue services" in your city or state.

Just some ideas. Good luck.

start volunteering at the spca and look for a job as an assistant or receptionist at a vet. If you show you volunteer and work with animals there is a better chance for you to get your foot in the door. Also look for a job (for now) at a pet store that is also more experience to get hired at a vet.

I got into working with animals by working for a groomer. All I did was wash dogs all day and take them out to potty. Now I am going through classes to become a dog trainer.I also cleaned horse stalls just to be able to ride the horses. There are many ways you just have to look and be willing to work hard.

you can apply at any dog/cat vet office and someone will hire you and train you.

but your best bet to get paid more money and to be able to take better care of the animals and to do more, you really should go to at least a community college level classes and get your associates in science degree.

You can always start by voluntering at a shelter. This way you can gain experience and have a better chance of getting hired somewhere for pay.

go to your local vet clinic, pet groomers, or pet stores and see what they have available.... alot of times these places will need people to bath the animals, clean pens, or at the vet clinic if the have overnighters due to owners bordering their pets they may need someone to walk and play with the pet

you can work at a shelter and not have a degree. I volunteer there, they have offered me a weekend job, but I declined.
