Yes, if you put a mirror next to the tank you can kill a Betta from to much stress. He will continue to try and attack his reflection and will most likely die from being too stressed all of the time.

If you want to do it, only do it for a few minutes each time. It is normal for Bettas to flare, just don't leave the mirror next to the tank for long periods of time.

I guess it's possible, but only if the betta was dying anyway. Most long time betta owners use mirrors a couple times a week. Betta seem to enjoy it, and it keeps them from getting too bored. Note that leaving the mirror there 24/7 is a bit stressful. Only do it for an hour or so 1-2 times a week. Also be sure there is a place in the bowl/tank he can hide from his reflection. If you have multiple betta you can just push their tank together.

No... of course not. In the wild, bettas encounter each other fairly often, they flare at each other, and retreat. If they all died from heart attacks, they wouldn't last very long as a species :)

A bit of mirror excersize is actually very good for them, like 15 minutes per day. Just don't leave it there all the time, otherwise he'll think the other betta just won't leave and it'll stress him out.

no -- flaring fish has two different schools of thought. some say its bad and some say its healthy and normal. i keep mine in divided tanks so they flare a couple times a day at each other and like to check out what the other one is doing. you don't want leave the mirror in the betta but a few minutes a couple times a day helps his blood flow and does in fact "exercise" him -- gets him to move around and stuff.

he might beat his head against the side of his tank and kill himself, when they look into a mirror they see an enemy so naturallyhes ready to fight ,you do know 2 bettas in the same tank will kill each other ,so your fishs reflection in the mirror is going look like he has company. he could possibly have a heart attack. good luck kathy a w
