Sometimes the announcer say that when a player holds 2 cards that makes a pair, its called a "wired pair". Isn't that just a plain o' pair? Is "wired pair" suppose to mean something else?

They are saying that their pair is in hand and not on the board. Pocket pairs is another way of saying it.

I think wired pair means you're sending off some kind of tell to the rest of the players that you have a pocket pair, therefore, 'wiring' them about your hand. From the old way of saying telegraph.

Yeah, it's just a wired pair in the player's hand specific to only Texas Hold Em

a wired pair is like two 7s in the two cards dealt to person face down.

a normal pair is if a person is dealt an 8 and a 6, and during a the flop, turn or the river another 8 is shown face up.

I hear them call it pocket pairs, but never heard wired pair.

If you look at your cards and see KK: It can be called : pocket pair, wired pair, or your hole cards.

lol I play alot of poker and never thought about it I think its just a pair but it might mean something
