Cell phone companies are now selling the ability for individuals to monitor location and phone use. Cell phone companies will sell the record of every call you make or receive to anyone who will pay for it.

All technology is a two-edged sword. For every "advantage" comes a corresponding danger. The media and advertising will always focus on the benefits to get individuals to buy devices that threaten their privacy and safety.

I wonder how many people who equip their children or loved ones with a GPS or cell phone so they can locate them realize that also provides an easy way for someone who wishes to do them harm to find them?

The same device that might call you an ambulance if you're in an accident and unable to call for aid might also allow corrupt officials to grab you at will. Any who think that can't happen in the U.S. are naive indeed.

There ia a way that the police can do it with a Nextel phone due to the walkie-talkie feature and the automatic GPS service that is included on the phone. As well as with Disney mobile, for an additional fee a parent can track their child's phone vis the computer.

Cell phones can be tracked by the carrier as well but not to a specific location unlike what is seen on TV. Locations can be triangulated but the exact location ca'nt be...
