Seeing friends tomorrow for routine cocktails. Need a good excuse as to why I won't be drinking without telling them I am pregnant.

Tell them you are on the zone diet and the first stage doesn't allow any kind of alcohol. I am going through the same thing and it even worked on my parents!

Well you could probably just tell them that you have been feeling a little sick at your tummy(do not have a fever) and would like a soft drink only. You are not in the mood for any other kind of drink. If they ask you if you are pregnant ask them what kind of question is that. Shouldn't you be able to chose what you want to drink. If you can not do this comfortably then stay at home Real friends shouldn't push you to drink. You could get there early and whisper to the bartender-and tell him to be quiet about it. A strawberry D. to sip on without the alcohol. He could give you a little as perfume.

Actually I would just say I was on antibiotics and just say you went to the doctors the day before with pain in your chest under your breast area, everytime you breathed in. The doctor checked your chest and could hear some crackles. A start of a chest infection and gave you 5 days worth of amoxicillion which you can't drink with it. With so much swine flu going about you wanted to keep on top of the chest infection. I should say that people will be proud of you when they find out the truth.....alot of women still drink whilst pregnant which is not a good idea, I didnt drink during my pregancies and feel it is the right thing to do. Congratulations and Goodluck!

Congratulations!

Whatever you do, don't cancel on your friends. It seems like whenever one of my friends gets pregnant she just stops showing up for "girls night." It's become the running joke when someone doesn't show up, "she must be pregnant."

Whatever you do, just don't make a big deal about it in front of them...or they will know. Order a virgin drink and hope they don't notice. If they do, tell them you have to drive home and you took an allergy pill or that you're having a blood test done the next day.

If they are your friends, they probably know you pretty well so they are going to ask if you are pregnant (especially if they no you have been trying). Say something vague and sarcastic like..."I wish that was the reason" or "you're funny."

Or....just tell them. They are going to be so excited for you...and you can't keep it from them forever!

Make up an excuse not to go. Or, say it will react with your meds. Or say you have something important going on right after or tomorrow and need a clear head. Or say you just joined this cult and you can't drink and you gave them all your belongings and this is the last time you will be getting together with your friends. (ok, just kidding about that last one.)

Tell them you have to go for some tests at your doctors office tomorrow. Just tell them its for some womens things not quite right!! Then later when you do tell them you are pregnant you can say thats what the doctor found out was wrong with you!!!

Do they know you were trying for a baby? If so just remind them of that since it's suggested you not drink while trying to get pregnant. otherwise just tell them you aren't in the mood, or that you're driving.

were you trying to get pregnant ? if so no excuse required ...if your group of friends expects you to drink that is a bigger problem.. no excuse required... if you really can't come up with a good excuse just don't go . . . .try saying no thanks give a different answer request a different drink and change the subject.

Just tell them...you dont feel like drinking. You and the bf are having a contest, who can hold out the longest on alcohol.

I think the best answer is that you are on antibiotics for a bladder infection, any girl who has had one knows that drinking alcohol makes it worse, and antibiotics will not work if you drink!

Congratulations and Good Luck!

Tell them that you're on an over the counter medication like Benadryl or A sinus Medication And that you dont want to mix them.
