i have no idea i road my dirt bike on the street and the cops was follow but i ran from them and got a way

A dirt bike is very much like a motorcycle. An ATV is very different from a car. You could make an ATV street legal if you had windshield wipers, seat belts, bumpers, mirrors, etc....

Basicaly because there a different legal requirements between vehicles have different numbers of wheels as to weight, saftey equipment, construction in general as to whats street legal.. ATV's dont meet the DOT requirements, dirt bikes generally do if you add the lights etc.

ATV's can be legal in Arizona. Pretty much the same requirements as motorcycles. Just depends on the laws where you live.

I have been told, that up north, ATV's can be made street legal. Per a Yamaha dealer in Texas.

atvs usually have a dead axle in the rear which causes them to not to turn unless you slide the outside tire on the asphalt this can be difficult and dangerous most states require a differential of some kind i beleive alaska is the only exception

i heard its because atvs roll easier on paved surfaces. i ride mine on the roads all the time and i havent came close to rollin mine yet.
