I think I installed Office from a friend, but do have it on my old hard drive currently...
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to save that onto a cd-rom and then be able to install it back onto the new hard drive that I install? Any other tips while doing this entire task?(Its my first time). Thanks.

Your best bet is to image your old drive either to CD/DVD or external hard drive. This way you can simply resotre that image to your new drive.

One way is to make a backup set of disks with something like Norton Ghost.

Unfortunately the only way to get MS Office is if you have the installation CD with the correct CD Key, you can not back up the program.
