The point of dancing is to express yourself. It's an art form. It makes people feel good about themselves. It can also be very fun and entertaining, but stressful during competition season.

Dance is an expression of different emotions depending on the music. For me it is a way to get away from the stress of work and other pressures of life.

it makes you feel good. It's like art. YOu can release your emotions and express your self. Yes it takes a lot of work to reach that level, but it's worth it because we all have avision of ourselves flowating across the stage effortlessly and we will work hard to approach that dream. We all love to perfom and express ourselves and dance gives us a chance to do that.

DAnce can alos be social. Boys and girls learn to dance so they can impress the others at school dances etc and gain popularity.

It's just a way of art with the body.
It's like telling a story, being an actor, being an artist.

Or, it can just be plain fun.
It's a great stress reliever, especially with friends.

OR it can also be a way to express love.
And when I say love, I mean sexual things.

It is a way to show off one's health, as a method to attract mates. Like everything else, we of course attach a lot of other meanings to it, and also don't always do it for attracting people, but I'm pretty sure the underlying urge is to express our health to showcase our viability as a mate.
