I think the world is going to be ending real soon, if so, then they go.

Probably one to two more years. The novelty will eventually wear off. Not everyone wants to see some arrogant piece of Eurotrash(cough Simon Cowell) torture some poor little kid who's dream it is to become a singer. American Idol I think will lose its appeal first because a lot of singers will discover there are more productive ways of making in the music industry thus they'll lose people who try out as contestants. I consider the term reality show for shows like Survivor to be an Oxymoron. If you really want to see a show about surviving in the wild watch Man Vs Wild hosted by Bear Grylls on The Discovery Channel thats reality.

I think a long time, they've already lasted way longer than I thought they would. I miss the days of Cops being the only "reality" show, not the choreographed formulaic stuff now.

Hopefully not much longer. Besides at some point people will get bored watching someone else have all the fun. Although with the growing obesity problem people may be in their homes much more often doing nothing and relying on someone else to have adventures for them, but hopefully I'm wrong.

I think they will go on for many years to come un-fotunately. The one good on was the "Joe Schmo Show".
They told this man that he was on a show sort of like Big Brother, only they didn't tell him everyone else was an actor.
The show went on for weeks until one week they told him to eat sh*t to win everyone a plasma TV. He was about to eat before one of the actors told him the truth.
This show was good because it didn't invlove dialing
1900 givememoney every week. Reality TV shows are for suckers.

Oh come on. They first came the U.S. in the early 2000's and everyone thought they would never last but there are more and more every year, some make it, many don't but they are cheap for to produce, so they'll be around awhile. Survivor was just renewed for two years.

Forever, hopefully they will actually make a real reality show. Most now are just physical game shows...

As long as there are people with no lives watching the shows, they'll be around forever!
