Jealousy has to do with a feeling of insecurity. We see in other people what we feel is lacking in ourselves. You are very wise to recognize this in yourself. One simple way of dealing with jealousy is to understand that half the people in the world look better than you, and the other half looks worse. Half the people have less than you do, and half have more. When you find yourself getting jealous of someone, remember this and be thankful for who you are.

Also, understand that although the grass may look greener on the other side, it may not actually be so. The person who seems to have everything may be miserable. The most beautiful person outside may be ugly inside, so don't allow jealousy to blind you from the truth. What we perceive as beauty may not be beautiful at all.

Finally, don't allow yourself to become jealous of people who have worked hard to accomplish something. You have the same opportunity. You can go back to school, or do whatever it takes to improve yourself. Don't be jealous of someone else because they've done so. If anything, try to discover how they were able to succeed. Perhaps that will inspire you, rather than cause you to be jealous. If you concentrate, you'll be able to overcome your feelings of insecurity. You have a wonderful, inquiring mind and a willingness to grow. Find happiness in the fine person you are and don't let petty jealousies ruin your future.

It is a product of our environment, at least that is what I believe. You are taught from a young age to want things, material possessions. It is not about what you have, but how you use it. Don't be jealous of what other people have, instead learn to appreciate what you already have. You're going to have to "un-learn" what you have already learned.

The reason I think people get jealous is because were bored. We have nothing going on so all we can do is think. Once we start thinking our imagnation runs wild and we start to hate, become sadden or just think were not good enough. In actual reality we are as good as we want to be. Another could be that they have something we want, doesnt matter if it love, material things, we just want it. But if you think about, they want something you want to, so it balances itself out.

It is usually insecurity and feeling inferior. It has nothing to do with the person you are jealous of. You are just afraid they are better than you.

low self worth may be the reason we get jealous, always thinking that other person has more than us, always comparing ourselves to someone else, unable to see ourselves as somebody. when we feel good about ourselves, and our own lives, we won't be jealous of others.
