Offhand, I'd say the 1920s.

But the 1770s were pretty eventful, too. And the 1960s and '70s are intriguing. Also the 1860s.

The 40's. I've always been fascinated by that time period. That and the 60's/70's because they had such great music. Well, mostly. I'm not much for the disco stuff though.
