I want to make my mustang taillights sequential. I don't want to buy an expensive kit, I'd rather wire it together myself if possible. Anyone know how or know where I can find out?

There are kits available, and they aren't all that expensive ( < $175.00).
But if you want to build it all yourself, go to a good electronics component store (I don't think Radio Shack will do) and locate a hobby book for automotive circuits.
It will show the diagram and circuitry necessary to accomplish your task, as well as offer some suggestions concerning components (transistors, diodes, drivers etc.)

Happy Motoring
