My son is 3 months and we want to have professional photos taken. Can you recommend a photo studio. Who does the best job for the best price. Someone recommended the photo studio at Babies R Us because they let you buy the cd with all the photos. Which company has the best packages? Has anyone had a bad experience?

Picture People. They are a little more expensive but they get the best shots and the back grounds distract from the finished picture.
They have a club you can join. Every once in a while, they have coupons in the paper too.

honestly, we swear by the wal mart portrait studio. We have an 18 month old and my step son is 3.5 years old and are all over the place. The pictures are always great!! The staff is always so accomidating (they usually schedule a block hour for you and there is not sitting fee, the normal price is usually 8-10 bucks for a 10x13, 2 8x10, 3-4 5x7's and a whole bunch of wallets and if you want to order more after you can!) They do 6 poses. We have been going to them for 2.5 years, first we went to sears, HATED IT!! They were rude, pricey, and the pictures were blurry, all of them!

Once again, just my personal opinion!!

good luck and have fun!

I think it depends on the photographer. I have had good and horrible experiences at The Picture People. The same with JC Penny's. I think you need to go to several portrait studios and find the right photographer that works well with your children.

JC Penny portrait studio---free sitting fee for babies under 6 months. Coupons for $3.99 portrait sheets are available everywhere. They have a great variety of backgrounds and props.

The Picture People--- There is never a sitting fee. Their packages are pricey but you get your pics with in an hour. You can usually find coupons online for a free 8X10 or 10X13. They only have primary colors as backgrounds and limited props.

Sears--They have limited backgrounds and props. They are also getting very pricey. They do have wonderful effects and collages.

I also have went to Kiddie Candids @ Babies R Us, Sears, and The Picture People. While they are a good, they are bit costly. If you have a Target in your area, see if they have a portrait studio. They take outstanding pictures and they are less costly. They offer the exact same things Babies R Us does, except for the wait period. With Babies R Us you get the pictures back in an hour. It takes about a week with Target.

Hope this helps.

I like kiddie kandids. They always do a really good job. I also like JCPenneys. I've gotten some really good pictures there. They put angel wings on my older daugher when she was a baby. My daugher has been to Sears twice. One time her grandma took her, and they had her holding a basketball! And she was in a dressy outfit! Ugh! Not so good. But I took her and her new baby sister there recently, and they did a wonderful job. I've never been to awful impressed with Walmart. I know you can go to kiddie kandids online and look at the packages and prices and stuff. They even show different backgrounds and props they use. Good luck. I'm sure wherever you go, they will be priceless.

I love Walmart Portrait Studios. The prices are great and more importantly, the pictures have turned out AWESOME in my experience. For more info visit www.goportraits.com

Wal-mart Portrait Studio is pretty good. and they usually have great package deals on. plus, you can buy the CD-ROM with the pictures if you want. also, they will keep your pictures on file for 21 days after in case you need to order more prints.

If you want PROFESSIONAL photos then I'd steer far clear of walmart, sears, target, penney's ect. because none of these places are professional photographers, they are photo mills with people trained to push a button on a camera - not photographers. I'd much rather pay more and get a few nice photos from a real professional photographer than a package of 232 crappy photos from walmart for $4.77.... I really regret not getting REAL professional photos of my oldest two when they were babies - they are only tiny once!!! My daughters have beautiful professional portraits from when they were tiny and my son's have sears "portrait" studio crap - and I wish I could do it over again!

SEARS - They put all your pictures on a CD, you can then take it to SAM'S CLUB and print off whatever you want, and they are REALLY cheap. Sears has this arrangement with Sam's, so it is all on the up and up.

Walmart takes great pictures too, and you can often get it done for $5.88. At that low price, you can get them done often. I know someone that gets them done at walmart every month.

If you want to spend ALOT of money, PICTURE PEOPLE take awsome pictures, but you will spend an arm and a leg there!

Hope this helps!!!!!!
