who is opposing border security? i don't think they are against spying on terrorists. it's the warrantless wiretaps the government can now put on ANY citizen that is raising eyebrows. i think there is a document somewhere that made it illegal to do things like that. now what was it called... oh yeah, the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. we the people... ring a bell? i think maybe the bush administration's willingness to wipe their fat butts with a 230+ yr old document like the constitution is causing a little concern in washington. if we flush all our rights down the toilet in order to protect us from terrorists then they have won. call me old-fashioned but i think we should leave the constitution alone. it has served us well for a very long time. it may be a thorn in the sides of power hungry politicians but i'm pretty sure it was meant to be exactly that.

Amazing how you try to put words in liberals' mouths.
Liberals don't oppose border security -- they oppose spending over $30 billion on a pork-barrel project that won't do anything to stop illegals from crossing (want proof? There is a fence for dozens of miles in the San Diego area -- since it went up, illegal crossings are down less than 1% in the area! Yeah, real effective use of money.)
Liberals aren't opposed to wire taps on terrorists -- liberals are opposed to violations of the constitution (warrantless wiretaps) and illegal use of the National Security Agency to conduct illegal wiretaps on American citizens. Secret courts to get warrants for wiretaps without the suspects ever finding out already exist -- but this administration skipped those courts, did it without warrants (illegal), and had the NSA do it (illegal). Liberals are looking out for your rights.
Liberals are for solving our problems, not throwing vast sums of money (that we'd have to BORROW from foreign governments) at an issue just to make political points. Liberals are for enforcement of the law under the law -- not illegally bypassing warrants to spy on Americans illegally by an agency that is prohibited by law from conducting surveillance in the USA.
Are you truly so brainwashed that you don't see the problems with the way these have been handled by the republicans? Do you just agree with everything Bush does without ever thinking about it? How sad.

Being opposed to building a useless and extremely expensive fence is the same as being opposed to border security? I think not.
Assuming anyone is a terrorist without evidence is OK in America? Wiretapping without a warrant is OK, even when there are ways to get a warrant AFTER THE FACT is OK? I think not.
If you believe Republicans want to protect you, you are truly misinformed. They are only interested in protecting their own economic interests.

That's an interesting statement! Fool! As a "conservative", I didn't know you needed protection.
Some Americans believe the Constitution & Bill of Rights should not be suspended just to "protect us." Historically, this has been the move of dictators in acquiring absolute power. Why can't the government follow the law? Check the latest news, Bush has now agreed to acquire a court issued warrant in these wire taps.

Freedoms are not Democrat or Republican, they are our American rights. incorrect is incorrect and if our freedom is in risk below a Republican administration we ought to protest. the present challenge ignores many rights and human beings are not responsive to the secure drain. What got here about to our freedom of religion? Why is it that at some military funerals the call of Jesus is forbidden? How can someone be admonished for interpreting a Bible on federal resources? Why ought to a relations in Florida be criticized for having a bible study of their homestead.? What got here about to our nationwide Day of Prayer? Why has Thanksgiving became right into an afternoon of revenues really of an afternoon of thankfulness to our author for the benefits we, as human beings, have loved? Why is the authorities attempting to rigidity acceptance of abortion on the customary public? Why does the authorities intervene on parental rights and inspire or insist on practise gay sex to babies, to mandate condoms, teachings, medical take care of pregnant pupils without parental permission? there are any such tremendous type of abuses, no one is staring at. no one cares.

Interesting that the answers from the libs are mostly to attack you, Bush, or his policies - but none are offering an answer to how they plan to protect their country. I agree with some that point out that they are better at protecting our civil liberties, but they continue to take weak stances on national defense and homeland security. Without which, we won't have any civil liberties to protect. I guess when we're all subjugating our women, torturing and killing our opposition, and strapping bombs to our children, they will be happy that we didn't violate any civil liberties in our fight to prevent it from happening.

They are going to help us by surrendering in Iraq, to convince the Jihadist we are peaceful and mean them no harm, and will not strike back even if we are attacked.
