Well, in 30 years of working on my own, and friends cars this is, frankly, bizarre.
Ok, the tampon will absorb the fuel, and swell. It will eventually block the fuel line, starving your engine.
If you've been living right, you MIGHT be able to see the string/applicator and possibly remove at least most of it.
Do NOT use anything but a flashlight/trouble light obviously.
Most likely you'll need to remove the gas tank and retrieve the offending feminine appliance via the fuel line connection.

It absorbs all of the gas and the guage will show full, then they will run out of gas because of the tampons. They will have to take it to the shop to get them out.

it means that for the next 3 or 4 days, your car will not leak any gas...just as long as you keep changing them out. and do not flush the tampons down the toilet. you can also look into a pad

well the cotton may deteriorate to the point that it gets sucked up in the gas line and clogs the fuel filter.

your tank can explode a hole then leak and when your on a freeway no gas means no life

I suggest you ,not using tampon on Your car.
no cleaner in the tank.
no additives in the tank
no water suppressor in the tank.

not pampering at all.

i think it stops gas tanks bleeding, but only use it on your car's period
