.......some of them casually stroll across the street or parking lot like they have all the time in the world?
I don't mean handicapped people who have trouble walking, I'm talking about totally able-bodied people who fiddle-fart along like they're doing it on purpose, all the while looking at you with a smirk that says, "What are you gonna do about it?"

It's just plain stupid for a 4,000 lbs car to have to stop so someone can walk across the street. First my 4,000lbs then the guy behind me and so on. The traffic accordian effect happens and you have a traffic jam. Gridlock. Crosswalks and green walk signals are all right and proper, we all have to walk around, but they must respect the unwritten law that speed and size gives me a certain right. I guess you have to look at the prize and how much it's worth for some idiot to push his weight around and flex dumb laws. Sure he may play chicken with the wrong driver or some one who is talking on their cell phone ( more idiots) and be 100% correct but crippled for life as a prize. In New York, Hong Kong, Rio, any real city, people respect that self preservation is the way to go. Cars do not stop for anyone. Everyone knows the rules of living to walk another day, and stay the hell out of the way! Look both ways, when clear, go for it.

Oh my god! I know, this is so frustrating! Just today I was driving and some pedestrian starting crossing the street WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING TO SEE IF SOMEONE WAS COMING!!! How stupid can they get? I mean, I understand that they supposedly have the "right of way," but blindly walking into traffic as if everyone is supposed to stop for them? Give me a break! They deserve to be hit!

Do you live in California? If you live in the midwest, you would never want to be a pedestrian! People won't see where they are going, how fast & sometimes consciously run over pedestrians.

I know what you mean. I had some high school kids do that once when I was giving a friend of mine a ride home, they stopped in the crosswalk to shoot the shiit, I reved my engine and honked my horn, they cleared quicker than heck.

Being a Mexican I have this moto " if u ain't got plates, get off the road" so i usually let them pass, but when they turn out to be like that, I slowly throw the car at them
