im a metal fan and i know that woldmother isnt really a metal band but they play good,classic rock sounding music.whats there to hate?

Some people enjoy being music snobs to the point that they will reject good music just to stay "cool". Also, some people worry about bands like Wolfmother starting/continuing a trend of 70s knockoffs. (Like all the pre-fabricated, record-label created Nirvana wanna-bes in the 90s.) I don't think a band has to reinvent the wheel in order to be good, but they do need a certain amount of originality. Besides, it is impossible to be totally original - everything's been done before. But hey - Wolfmother showed up on several "best of 2006" lists, so they are well liked in some circles. I like them.
