First of all, are you referring to your Yahoo! email address or home-based (ISP-given) email account address?
Scenario 1:
If you're referring to the Yahoo! email address, I wld probably understand why, it is because you've sign up for a new Yahoo! account in the wrong website territory. Probably you happen to be in http://www.yahoo.com.sg (Singapore Yahoo! website) when you sign up the account, rather than you're supposed to be in http://www.yahoo.com (US Yahoo! website). Hence, you're given vwxyz@yahoo.com.sg, instead of vwxyz@yahoo.com for your email address.
Scenario 2:
My personal experience with Yahoo! email is that I was given a Yahoo! UK email address when I was really actually in Yahoo! Singapore website. I asked my friends why I was given the wrong email extension. So they told me because sometimes the Yahoo server is too busy to delegate the exact location extension to you at the moment, thus the fastest & easiest way is to grab whatever available extension which is present at the particular slot in the server and send to the customer directly. Hence, that is how different country email extensions are given to customer.
But if you're referring to your home-based (ISP-given) email account, then I think you must check it out with your ISP (Internet Service Provider). It could be that your ISP is really a Singapore-based web service provider. Other than that, I really can't think of any other related possibilities or reasons.

Check the website where you subscribe for the email service. It could have diverted to a Singapore-based site and hence so.
