Im a hairdreser and feel like with my profession i could work anywhere. I really fancy a change and a new experience. I really like barbados and have been a few times, i feel i know it well and have a few friends out there. The problem is i have no ties such as being married or children but have a mortgage and a very successful mobile hairdressing business which gives me a really good income but not sure if i should give them up. At the same time i don't want to regret not experiencing living and working in a different country in years to come. Whats a girl to do

Do make sure that you could get a work permit for Barbados. It is notoriously difficult. http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:3Mf3jLVTDiAJ:www.bidc.com/section2.cfm%3FSubSection%3D171+barbados+work+permit&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=1
I have come across people who travelled to the Caribbean on spec, found a job and then managed to get the immigration formalities sorted out for them afterwards, but it would mean that you'd be in limbo while this was being done. Have you actually found someone who'd be prepared to employ you? In most Caribbean countries (all right, I know it's in the North Atlantic!) it's not an option for a foreigner to work freelance as you have been doing -- you need a business licence, a local business partner, etc. etc. Make sure you do your homework before taking off. And whatever you do, hold onto your property!

Interim suggestion: work on a cruise ship? They need hairdressers!
