Before money, we bartered ... trading 2 chickens for blankets ... Money was coined in both Western Europe & Asia around 5000 BC. Italy was the first Banking system allowing one to travel without fear of being robbed.

Like language, money is a social organization and civilizing force that provides a means and incentive for human beings to relate to one another economically by exchanging goods and services for mutual benefit. The capacity to convert perishable commodities and non-storable human labor into money provides a powerful incentive for people to produce more than they need for present personal consumption and to convert the surplus value into money so that it can be stored to meet future needs. Thus, the invention of money has stimulated the development of society by fostering hard work, higher productivity and continuous innovation. In addition to its economic functions and capacities, money has acquired other secondary social and psychological powers that may be exercised either by the expenditure of money or by its mere possession: these include the power to enhance popularity, status and prestige, the capacity to enhance the sense of self-worth, and the power to attain or influence political power.

It was invented to exchange for goods and land instead of war. An income made people enterprising in their endeavors in life.
But it has gone too far. Economy is suppose to be a tool, money is just a tool, but then there are many who use it as a weapon and they steal with it as well. Let us say money was made with good intentions and that inevitably mankind turns it into evil. The good people that know money cannot buy love, or bring the dead back to life, and that it is meaningless without a moral intent will not fight back, as they should, they are either avoiding confrontations, or they believe it is not God's will or they are poor and can do nothing. All is wrong, when it is morally wrong with the use of money you should stand up and say so regardless. It is the same as a gun if not worse when used in the wrong way. Money is a good thing for honest people but their are very few. Have you ever seen the sights when mankind has struck gold?
And his eyes get huge like its a big bowel of candy? Most people are like that, they get a fever over it? And there are the few, that maintain with good conscience in reality and know that it is only money and that is all, that they cannot eat it, love it, touch it, grow it, or build it? That it is just a symbol a legal tender to trade merchandise for the need of ones own family and friends.

Money is a more effective form of barter because it is a universal medium of exchange - we need some form of barter because we cannot provide everything we need by ourselves,

when people no longer feel that trading for things is fair or they have lack or abundance of 'things' they wanted a more abstract form of power that they could use at will .....sort of a short cut. (takes out the half dozen steps of getting a mountain out of a mole hill??????What the????)
