that depends on the size of the files. a song ripped at 192 kbps is going to take up more space than the same song ripped at 112 kbps. also, a song ripped in .wav format is going to take up a lot more space than a song ripped in .mp3 or .wma format.
you cannot answer that question with a definite number of songs since there are so many variables involved.

depends on the MP3 size mp3 r usually high quality mp3 300ish kbs might take like 8 megs so that will only hold about 150ish but a 128kbs thats 4 megs u can hold 250ish also depends on song legnth a 10 minute track can take like 20 megs

so your PM3 player of 1 GB can take around 200 songs
1 GB = 1000 MB
i song is 5 MB
1 gb = 200 songs

I have one and it holds around 420 songs however it depends on the size of the songs on how many you can really hold.
