If you are using Tarot cards as an oracle, you may be more inclined to read card meanings and spreads. But if using Tarot Cards as a tool for Psychic Ability you would be less likely to hold to any hard and fast guide lines. I’m a profession psychic and use Tarot Cards in a random way. In 25 years of professional readings I’ve never used any ‘meanings, spreads or reversals’ of tarot cards from any books.
So if you want to develop ‘Psychic Ability’ throw the books and guidelines away and let the images inspire you. But you may need to try the Rider Waite or another imaged deck.
I believe we are all psychic, but for the majority the gift or the belief has been long knocked out of them. Educated out is another way of looking at it. Many professional psychics have grown up in a psychic friendly environment. Perhaps a grand-parent or parent with the knowledge has helped bring the extra sense out in the open and encouraged its use. But there are as many practicing psychics who have not had the benefit of caring psychic guidance and who have still managed to develop and hone this natural extra sense. The Psychic Sense.
To tap in to it more you can go to my free develop-psychic-ability page here: http://www.psychic-junkie.com/develop-psychic-ability.html
But on the other hand, if you want to use the Tarot as an oracle, a form of divination that needs no real ‘psychic ability’, then keep the books and use the meanings and spreads if you prefer.
Here is a free download demo for a great Tarot program. To keep the size of the demo manageable it contains the Rider/Waite deck, the actual program will have 10 complete decks. This Demo version of Tarot is a full working copy for 30 days. So you get 30 days to study meanings and spreads! http://www.free-tarot-download-demo.wotsnext.com

Anyone can read cards, you can buy them at a bookstore or even on line free tickle card reading. Most psychic like you to shuffle the cards, so it will have only your energy on them. If a card was the same for a friend and you, yes it would have a different meaning because of the other cards all fit together with it too. A psychic can read more of others things.. like your past and future without cards. They use cards sometimes also. A card reader doesn't have to be psychic though. Hope this helps you out some.

The other cards can influence what you say about a key card. There are a number of meanings behind each card and you pick and choose by what other cards come up with it.
It really doesn't matter who shuffles the cards. I've done readings for people in person and had them shuffle the cards, but I've also done readings for people over the internet where they couldn't. Readings were equally accurate.
Psychic is ok, but you still need to know how to read the cards. The cards are actually a tool to unlock the psychic gift many people have. Without them, they can't do it.
It may seem sometimes that a tarot card reader is fishing for information from you when they do a reading, but most of it is just idle chat to make you more comfortable. The cards are equally accurate whether or not they do it.
I don't give readings for strangers any more because of the accuracy of the cards. I did a reading for someone who did not tell me they had cancer. It showed up so strongly in the cards that I couldn't give them ANY hope. Still gives me chills. The cards are accurate for me, but I can't claim to be psychic in any other way.

Some Psychic's/Mediums use Tarot cards as a tool to get the energy from the person then they can connect and give messages if the use their Guide they tell them what to say others may just go with the feeling of what they are telling you is right.
It has a lot to do with the persons energy.
Some can read aura's as well so they may throw that in.
It depends on the Medium
3 people may get the same card however the message may be totally different for each person.
Love & Blessings

That is normal to get the same card but it means different things. For instance when I use my angel cards on myself I may get "CHILDREN" 15 different times. Sometimes it might mean that I need to be more "child-like" in finding peace/harmony in my life. Next time it might mean that I need to work in a career with children. The following time it might mean that I am having a child. The next might mean that I need to help some children with money/clothes gifts. So hopefully you see as my example shows the same card can come up and since all 3 of you got a reading it probably meant different things because you are all different people.
For me I like to shuffle my own cards. I feel more in tune. But some others like to let other feel like they are part of the situation. Either way you would get the same advice. Did you listen to what the psychic told you or were you there to prove something wrong. You have to have an open heart when doing those sort of things.

BEWARE!
These are the original Egyptian Tarot cards from which so many other Tarot decks derived.
http://www.vopus.org/en/content/view/345...
They are sacred and we are not allowed to ask any unserious question(like "how will be the weather tomorrow", "am I beautiful or not", yes-no questions, etc.); the question must be serious(for example "why don't I get a job yet?", "what can I do to solve my family problem?","why I still can't find my soulmate",etc.). Also they must be sanctified before use, not letting others touch them(they'll lose accuracy since they will be charged with your energy), make some prayers before asking the Tarot, asking our Inner Father(the Divine within us to answer our question through the cards- the cards don't give an answer on their own, it's our inner Being that gives the answer through them), we must cense them before asking, sitting in a protective circle and so on.
Tarot cards are very attacked by Demons that is why we need to be careful not to use Tarot cards that you can find at any store, that are just derived from the originals and need to perform some protection stuff before using them. Cards being attacked by Demons=> attacking us too, our minds of course(I remember 2 dreams where one made incantations to my mind and I had to burn the cards).

The United States Government offered 1 million dollars to anyone who could show proof of psychic powers back in the 1970's.
To date there has been not one person show up.
There is no difference between psychic's and tarot card readers. They lie to the weak minded to make money, and who can blame them.

No expert myself but I've been to way too many readings in my younger years. I guess a deck of tarot cards is basically a tool.
Shouldn't take it too seriously, there are hits and misses and for me, it became too much of an emotional burden too carry daily, always looking around the corner for good things to come true and dreading the bad. Good luck to you and your friends.

even though you all got the same card it does mean different things to each of you because you are not the same person and no two people will have the same reading.
