I love animals and could never hurt them etc and just want to know why some people can be cruel to them :(

Why are people cruel to their fellow persons?

Many reasons.
The majority of people who are cruel to animals do it for money; fur farmers keep their livestock in tiny cramped cages in unsanitary conditions just so they can save their money. All in all, they really don't care about the animals, just the money. Eg they aren't really being cruel to animals for the point of it, more they just don't care.
Secondly there are those who do it for "sport": fox hunting, illegal for almost 2 years now in the UK thank god, was a sport where hunting hounds were set on foxes to tear them apart, all in the name of "tradition" and "fun". Sick, but like fur farmers, I doubt the majority of bloodsporters do it because they want to hurt the animal if you know what I mean... usually because they're following a family tradition or they just enjoy the "thrill of the chase"
Lastly, there are the sadists. The people who torture and kill animals for pleasure. There is a proven link between sadistic animal tortureers and murderers; google it.

Man is the cruelest of all animals, we are the only being that hurts each other for pleasure. All other animals do so for food or out of a need to survive.

Probably these people are just losers who would like to feel all superior, since they can't do this to their fellow human beings.
I tend to be very passionate when it comes to animals =) I love them!

Some people just have no empathy. Others are just so miserable with their lives that they have to take their rage out on a helpless creature. Most are just jerks.

there will always be people who disrespect other living beings because they see no reason to treat them as brothers like their Ancestors did who followed the Ancient Ways.

They're obviously sick people! Maybe they lack confidence and think it looks cool to hurt them, thinking it makes them look tough, but theyre so wrong. They're just sadistic

Because they are weak. They need to pick on things that can't defend themselves, and they are sick..mentally sick
