We got a new computer at the end of Sept. - it has 2G SDRAM and an 80G hard drive I think... I bought it for multimedia, not gaming though. We decided to get The Sims 2 and now my husband has gone nuts building houses and a gazillion Sims. Now our game runs terribly - choppy and slow. What can we do to fix this? Is there an overwriting problem? We also added Family Fun Stuff and Glamour Life Stuff packs.

What kind of video card? if it is an inter-grated one - the sims does not like them, do you have a slot to put a video card one with its own memory on board. You can change your video settings in the game to lower settings that might help.
The other thing is how many downloads to you have in the game, that will slow it down.

This is most likely a video card issue. Try turning down all the graphics settings.

If you bought a computer from a store like compusa it probably has some sort of integrated graphics, which are worthless.
