It's a film, and I think it just came out. Originally it was a book. I'm just curious if it is good?

I saw it.
I loved it. I thought it was rather interesting how this one young man affected the world around him. And even though he was evil, I coudn't help but want him to get the ingredients for his perfect perfume.
He had a depressing life, more than not, so the very end of the movie was appropriate in what he chose to do and the results.
It's not a family movie though, and not for young kids.
I hope I avoided spoilers, but gave enough of a description to give my impression of the film.

I'm not sure about the movie, but I know the book was excellent. I'm curious about the casting of Dustin Hoffman as Giuseppe Baldini, as he doesn't really seem right for the character. But I love the fact that Alan Richman was cast as Antoine Richis...how awesome. And John Hurt as the narrator...pure genius. I'm really looking forward to it. I have a feeling it is going to be like 'From Hell', not what you would expect from a serial killer movie...
Unfortunately, it's not playing yet in our area, but I'm still hoping to see it here soon.

The critics haven't liked it too much, since it's sort of about a serial killer, but the scenes that I've seen make me think that it has a nice look to it. This might not be a movie for everyone.
