LOL The neocon doomsday predictors keep saying "give it time, give it time". Anything can happen given enough time, elephants might even fly. Tell us again about those tax increases that the democrats would pass FIRST thing they do. What a bunch of sore losers those neocons are.

As far as attacks, Dems have only had the majority in the house and senate for about roughly 3 weeks now, time will tell, but first they have to make their changes
As far as the tax hikes, again, the Dems have only had the majority for 3 weeks now and the only way that the tax rates are NOT going to increase is if the Democrats extended President Bushes tax cuts before they expire. Do you think that they will do this???
You see, during the 06 mid-term elections, the Democrats were saying that they were NOT going to raise taxes, this was only half true. Parts of the Bushes tax cuts started expiring on 1/1/06 and will ALL eventually expire on 1/1/11. Letting them expire is the same as raising taxes.

Why should I be surprise that hasn’t happened? Those two assertions came directly from the mouths of Republican pundits and politicians; people of the most mendacious variety.
Another terrorist attack hasn’t transpired, because quite frankly, 9/11 accomplished everything Islamic militants wanted to accomplish. They provoked the US into an open ended war that has alienated it from its closest allies; a war whose given rationale has tainted American’s reputation for years to come. The obliteration of good will that has transpired as a result of Bush’s cowboy response to 9/11 has left America in a weakened state militarily and diplomatically. A weakened American gives radical Islam carte blanche to propagate itself and recruit in record numbers.
Far from destroying Islamic militancy, Bush’s retaliatory measures have stoked its fires.

I believe their policies make both more likely.
I don't think anyone seriously thinks their policies have even begun to be implemented yet, let alone have their effects felt.
I believe Bush made a big mistake ending the Terrorist Surveillance program, so people can always blame him for not "connecting the dots."
PS If they don't make changes as advertised to "reform the tax system" and "protect our civil liberties," some of which I do believe are misguided, then they will be breaking their campaign promises!
PPS You spoke too soon on taxes! This happened today:

There is still plenty of time for the Dems to try and raise taxes. It will be hard for them to do now since Bush is in office. They're going to need an Democratic president to enact their tax hikes on all Americans. On the other hand I hope they take national security more seriously than they appear to.

Give the dems time and they will figure a way to raise taxes and have another terrorists attack. That's all they are qualified to do.
republicans were accused of everything from fixing the voting machines to stopping people from voting and you call us sore losers--get a life.

Why would I even want a terrorist attack to prove you wrong? As far as taxes we haven't even seen how they plan on paying for their new programs since the House passed pay-go!

The Democrats have only been in office a couple weeks, so it is far too early to say these things will not happen. Also, I am not sure how a terrorist attack would have anything to do with the Democrats controlling Congress.
