Unfortunately we get treated with discrimination on our felony charges no matter how long ago they were but if u have been clean for 7 to 10 yrs. (sometimes sooner) u may petition to ur state's governor's office for a Gubernatorial Pardon which only the Governor can give to expunge ur past record and it never again interfere in u applying for a job. It will be erased and when asked if u have felonies can honestly answer "no" without fear of it coming up on any background search.

As far as ur education it will never hurt u to get that degree it only helps immensely.

The degree is an excellent idea. You should certainly find out how long it will take to petition for a pardon to clear your record but in the meantime, get yourself that education and a work history that shows you've become an asset to society. You may have some rough steps along they way but it sounds like you are clearly on the right track for a successful future. Good luck!

Yes it would depend on how old you are now and what your rap sheet looks like now.... what the car dealer will want to know is if you have 'reformed'. you must show that you have been a good citizen for an extended length of time. show remorse and be a solid citizen. Since you were convicted of robery the prospective employer will keep an eye on you and see if you 'lift' some tools or stuff while you are on the job. That is if you get hired. You might take a job at the local stop and rob and see if you can be found trustworthy by that manager.... that is what i would recommend... good luck bro/homie/or blood........

yes it depends how long ago, I'm not sure if there is such thing as a "pardon" where you reside, but it basically clears any criminal record you might have had, although you would have to wait 5 years or so since your last offence. The best thing I recommend is to speak to a lawyer, or even someone in the law enforcement. Best to be safe than sorry.
