I'm starting to take yasim and my friend is always telling me that I will gain weight, and that every girl gains weight when they take birth control pills. I know that my friend sounds like he's not a good friend, but he is really just protecting me. But he is a male so I don't really listen to him, lol. So can you help me? Did you gain weight?

Well i used to take Yasmin...and my doc told me that, compared to other brands, it's one birth control pill which does not seem result in the person gaining weight..and if they do, it's minimal.
Before that i was on a different brand called Celeste, and that did make me put on around 10 pounds all in all.
So you should be fine with Yasmin ;-)

You know, maybe I put on 2 pounds in the 4 years I've taken it, but I've taken a lot of other medicines at that same time (which caused a 50 weight gain). But now I'm off the other medicines, I lost the weight but am still on yasmin. I don't really think it caused me to gain weight seeing as I've lost it and I'm still on it, but if it caused any weight gain, it would be minimal. And the benefits definitely out-weight the risks.

You will gain MINIMAL weight... just realize that its better than the weight you would gain from being pregnant!! Only SOME people actually gain weight from them, as long as you eat right, you shouldnt gain enough to make any difference at all.

I love yasmin, the first month I maybe put on the most 5 lbs, but once my body got use ot it, I didn't have a huge appite anymore, I had no cramps and short peoids. I love it.
