Salaries wages are not going up. Why are the minium wage to middle classes being penalized? Nobody is representing us! It seems that the enegy companies are being given free range to do whatever they want to when it comes down to raising costs with no limits. The commissioners governing them only rubber stamp the approval of those raises. What can be done?

Yes, the minimum wage needs to increase to keep up with inflation. Inflation is what is driving up the cost of rent, heating, utilities, etc... But minimum wage is at its lowest ever, being $5.25 to the dollar, compared to inflation now.

If you raise the minimum wage, many companies will move overseas to stay competitive, or hire illegal aliens who have no regard for minimum wage.

The solution is very complicated, it's not as simple as raise the minimum wage.

The middle class does not earn minimum wage. The majority of those earning minimum wage are between 16-25... those in school and those who should not have an entire family to support. Most jobs pay more than minimum wage... even grocery stores, McDonalds, department stores, etc.

Why are you only concerned with people in apartments? What about people actually paying mortgages and trying to squeak by? Why is it that you think something can be "done" about this?

If you work for a company that isn't giving you raises, then switch jobs. You can't expect to get a raise when Wal-Mart has wage caps.
