What kind of a tip is usual for a place where you park your car and talk into a box to order food. Then someone you've never seen brings it out and puts it on your cars window?
Just curiousl

You should tip them the usual 15%. Sometimes we dont' realize that most servers (Sonic folks included) usually get slightly over $2 an hour as an hourly rate. They depend on your tips to make a decent living. Instead of asking if you're giving enough, start thinking in terms of "how can I really make this guy's day today?" If you've got a few extra bucks, go above and beyond. You won't regret it.

I just have never thought about it. As a rule in TX, it just isn't done.
