I'm ready to back Obama but I worry that because of his race the red states would be a landslide in favor of his opposition.

I admire his tenacity. He is a breath of fresh air, and probably what America needs. I really like him and his politics a lot, however he will never be elected president in The United States. Why? Because he doesn't have the correct color of skin to be accepted fully into the "Good Ole Boy" establishment. It really angers me too, because he could probably breathe some life into Americas image, and standing around the globe. Unfortunately, and sadly, racism is very much alive and well here in The United States. People are still judged by the color of their skin, rather than the context of their character...(MLK). As long as we allow racism to prevail in the U.S. Barack Obama, will never be president. Neither will Hillary Clinton. I don't like her or her politics, (Her husband was much more charismatic) .....she is female, and again, with the racism there is still much gender bias in this nation as well. Even if her record was squeaky clean, which it isn't...And even if she were remotely likeable, which is up for debate, she stands no chance at the White House, none. It makes me angry. We are supposed to be the greatest nation in the world, and we still are backwards in so many ways....Just my opinion.

He hasn't announced a presidential bid, he simply filed papers to form an exploratory committee to investigate the viability of a presidential campaign.
That said, I'd almost enjoy a Barry-n-Hill ticket. People do seem to be vastly disillusioned with the current regime and it's been proven that the people, en masse, are ready for a change. Obama has been received really well in New Hampshire, and aside from the propagandist word play with his name by juvenile right-wingers, I think he's got as good a shot as almost any Dem out there.

Well, even as a semi-conservative guy, I don't really have a problem with Obama. He seems like a good enough guy to me, the fact is however that he doesnt have a prayer. If the republican'ts run Giuliani or someone of that ilk the demorats are just going to get crushed again.

Barack Obama has the potential to stabilize America, as North America enters a historic period of time.
From the little I know of the man, I believe he has the potential to be a cross between "24's" President Wayne Palmer and "Star Trek's" Spock: that combination of leadership of the people, for the people and by the peoples choice create HOPE.
Remember this too - prayer, and I mean fervent, heartfelt prayer, has a significant role in our collective futures.

I'm not real sure what I think yet--I want wait and see what kind of a campaign he runs and how well it is run. I want to hear him talk about the most important issues and not blow hot air. IHe can five books and be the best person ever--but I want to see him in the running first--under pressure.
