I have really rough skin on my cheeks, and its really annoying, it makes wearing foundation a pain and I'm always red. And it's kinda ruining my confidence. I just wondered if there was any remedies for this kinda thing! I moisturise all the time, but by the end of the day they're all rough again. It's like goosebumps, but constantly and it sucks! Please help :( xXx Thanks

This is most likely a very common skin condition called "rosacea." There are a number of good treatments for this condition these days, and your doctor will be able to help you decide which one is right for you. Moisturizing may actually be making it worse, as you might be irritating your skin somewhat with the chemicals in the moisturizer. Go see a doctor or dermatologist about this to get the best advice on what to do. But take heart in knowing that there ARE treatments that can help (though, unfortunately, there is not currently a cure).

It sounds like Keratosis Pilaris, which is a skin disease, and can show up on the face. In some others it shows up on the upper arms, thighs, back and buttocks. It looks like goosebumps and can range in color from brown to red. Essentially they are blocked hair follicles that get backed up with sebum and skin (or even ingrown hair) because your skin cells are not shedding efficiently. On the body you can use a scrub or loofah and follow it with a higher concentration alpha hydroxy acid lotion to help speed the skin renewal process and unblock the pores. I would not recommend this for the face. If you have Keratosis Pilaris, currently there is no cure. A dermatologist can give you creams for it, if indeed this is what you have. If not they can diagnose it and recommend a course of action.

you should try a beaded facial scrub. although i don't know what exactly is causing this roughness i know that if it has something to do with excess skin cell build up then the beads in a facial scrub will help diminish the excess layers. then follow it with a good moisturizer.
