Suspension, engine(higher compression), tires, wheels, interior, gages, trim options, badges, floor shifter, gearing. Lots of differences. I really miss my 96 Impala SS. That car was awesome.
Also...a real Impala only came in 3 colors...Black, Black Cherry, and Gun Metal(greenish grey). All were monochromatic. And they only had leather seating with the Impala Logo stitched in. A lot of people are re-badging a caprice and trying to pawn it off as an Impala. Don't Be Fooled!

The Caprice is a stock grocery getter, the Impalla is a police car in civilian trim, with all the same suspension and powertrain goodies the cops get.
