Probably not. The extradition process is pricey. Even though your son is wrong for breaking the law, it is not a serious enough offense to warrant extradition. Murder, rape, serious assault charges, some drug charges would result in extradition from that far away. But he should be alright. Just tell him to lay low, behave, and enjoy the sun.

Extradition is between countries. Rendition is between states. If he commited the crime in Michigan, California has a responsibility to return him to face his crimes in Michigan upon thier request. When and if they find him in California he will have additional charges for fleeing the state in addition to whatever time he was facing for false pretense.

It's best that he do his time and learn from his mistakes than to risk an increase in jail time and unfavorable view from the judge because he doesn't seem to want to be accountable for his crimes thus he will get the maximum penalty.

When you're innocent, it's usually not a good idea to take a guilty plea for jail time in a federal "pound me in the butt" prison. Also here's some advice: I don't think they allow conjugal visits there, but the real key is to kick someone's butt the first day, or become someone's {female dog}. Then everything will be all right, and your son will make it through just fine. Just letting you know for the next time you or your son is charged on "false pretenses" for a felony.

If they catch him in California they can. Is it Oakland County?... they have plenty money for extradition. Will they go through the trouble for something like this.. probably not, but why would your son want to take the chance? Not only that but if he gets into trouble there (in California) it is for sure that he will be sent back here after completing any sentence imposed there, then it's double time in a way isn't it. He shouldn't run... he should face up to his mistake and be done with it.

I am pretty sure that any state will extradite from another state, depending on the severity of the crime, and if michigan is willing to pay for him to be extradited from california.

it is as much as Michigan to choose. in the event that they decide to pay the fees for extraditing you, they are going to. If not, then you truly are loose to circulate, yet do purely not circulate to Michigan each time quickly.

Yes. That will only add to his problems.

If you have prior knowledge of his flight and do not alert authorities as to his whereabouts after he leaves you will be on the line too.

If you paid bail, you will be on the line.

Yes and that will only add another charge and more time. Tell him to be a man and take his medicine. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time!!!!!!
