My mother lives in bayside, New york (Queens). She lives in a co-op, and we all know that right now is winter in NYC, but the problem she has is that there are tons of mosquitoes outside as well as inside the house. There is NO POOL, so whats the deal? HELP

As long as you have stagnant water anywhere, and temperatures above 50 degrees, you'll have skeeters. A couple things to do is to try and get rid of the stagnant water from around the house. Next, POISON. I would just use any cheaply available malathion, or other bug spray you can get at home depot. Try to avoid spray cans like Raid, etc.... They cost alot, and are more for temporary purposes. But go to Home Depot or Lowes and ask them for a spray you can use on your yard.

There is some standing water somewhere near! This may be a clue on a different problem. Old tires are an excellent breeding ground for mosquitos. There is usually some kind of cooperative extension service that can better direct you.

I found some in water where I was rooting a plant! Changed the water daily for a week-- rinsed the roots and no more skeeters. Try it.
Good luck

Are you sure that they are mosquitos? I thought that they died off in the cold.
