Mexico City
Mexico City is the largest city in the world. It was built on the site of the ancient city of Tenochtitlán. Tenochtitlán was built in 1325 by the Aztecs. It was destroyed by the Spanish when they conquered Mexico. Hernando Cortez first entered the Valley of Mexico in 1519. With fewer than 200 soldiers and a few horses, he conquered the Aztecs. In 1521 the Spanish destroyed the city of Tenochtitlán.

mexico Corn
Corn is the main food crop grown in Mexico. It is grown on half of the cultivated land. The Indians living in what is now central or southern Mexico ate corn from wild plants about 10,000 years ago. About 5000 B. C. the Indians learned how to grow corn themselves. Corn is used to make flat pancakes called tortillas. They are sometimes folded and stuffed with different foods to make tacos.

Names
Mexican children are given both their father's last name and their mother's maiden name. This tradition helps preserve the heritage of both parents. Fathers would often weave a God's eye when their children were born. At each birthday for five years the father would weave another God's eye.

Competitive association football in Mexico was organized in the early 20th century by various European immigrant groups, notably English miners from Cornwall, England, and in later years, Spanish exiles fleeing the Spanish Civil War. Though organized football was disrupted from 1910 to 1919 as a result of the Mexican Revolution, a new football association had been established in Mexico City by 1922, and by the end of the year a national team had been organized from players in this league to represent Mexico in international friendlies. On January 1, 1923, Mexico played their first international friendly against Guatemala, which the Mexican team won 3–2.

The Mexican people are the most gracious people I've known, and I am fairly well traveled. I lived in Mexico for 10 years, loved the people, loved the food, loved the climate. Almost everything about Mexico is nice, cool and fun.

One thing I noticed about Mexico was that every body I met was so nice. They always wanted me to go to their home and meet their families and eat their food. Also, if a family was poor they were fine with it. They were happy with what they have, not wanting a flat screen tv or the hottest cell phone and they still don't worry about how they will pay the bills next month or have money for food. Here, we are so preoccupied with bills, what we want to buy and how we will pay for rent when there are so many people who don't even have a place to live.
