It depends on the condition it is in. But don't take it to a pawn shop. Look for Coin & Stamp shops in your area. Or put it up on ebay. Its worth different amounts to different people. A person who doesn't collect coins will say its worth one penny. A collector may say its worth a little more. And someone who has every penny except that one because they can't find it anywhere will say its worth a lot.

The worst place to go is a pawn shop. You need to go to a coin dealer. The 1914-S had a mintage of 4,137,000. The 1914-D is the rare one. Grade is important: a quick guide here; good- date warn but coin has full rims.Fine- wheat lines worn but visible. Very fine-Cheek and jaw bones worn but separate and no worn spots on wheat heads. Value in grade good $9.75,in fine $13.00 and in very fine $21.00. Worth more if coin grades higher. The prices are about what a dealer would give you.

Depending upon its condition...
It ranges anywhere from $12.oo in good condition (( keep in mind YOUR good condition will differ from a collectors definition of "good" )) all the way up to $475.oo if it is in a Mint sealed setting.
There were 4,137,000 of those made that year.
Hang on to it and keep it safe !!

well i would say a penny, but i am sure a coin collector would say differently, try a search for coin collector shops in your area, or an online coin forum.

"1d," where the d is an abbreviation for the Latin "denarius" (the actual origin of the English word penny).. A shilling and a penny would have been written either "1s. 1d." or 1/1.
