Of course they will stand against it. They are protecting the American people. Any tax put on big oil will get passed on to the consumer in the form of higher gas prices and higher prices on all petroleum based products (IE: plastics). Anything that raises the cost of to the oil companies will be passed on.
ANY TAX ON OIL WILL WIND UP BEING PAID BY THE CONSUMER NOT THE CORPORATION.

I guess we can blame this on the Demos too. In power for two weeks and they have been accused of everything including killing Jesus. Weren't the Republicans the ones in power when prices went up to almost $4.00 a gallon up from a $1.00 a gallon.

What a completely wrong conclusion you've come to.
The fact is that targeting specific companies for punitive taxation is against everything this country was founded upon.
Only economic illiterates and fools would support this despicable display by the Democrats.

Considering the Republicans' cozy relationship with the major oil companies and the power of their lobbyists, why does this surprise you? It's mainstream .
