No. Why would u be stupid for this sort of thing.

Silly? Maybe, but the idea of having two Godfathers is.... well, out of place since the child is a girl. Still, maybe they are just looking for both of you to sponsor in case the other refuses instead of actually having both of you as Godfathers. Just accept, and if your cousin accepts as well, see if they want you to still attend in that position. If you find out they want both of you to attend as Godfathers, flatter your cousin and say he'll do a great job.

Yes you are being an oversensitive twit. It is usual for a boy to have 2 godfathers and a godmother and for a girl to have 2 godmothers and a godfather. However you can have more of each if you want.

I think that you should be honored still. it take a lot for two people to stay that they trust you with the life of their child in case one should die. I have two godmothers, and they both accept the honor of that. I asked one time why have two, and they said it was a compromise because they could not agree one or they other. I would not decline the offer because what would happen if the other person could not handle the responsiblities of parenthood, would that child end up in foster care?

Yes I think you are being stupid. I surmise it is a boy you are being godfather too. Usually boys have two godfathers and a god mother. Girls have two godmothers and a godfather. God I hope I have got this right,

Yes you are a bit sensitive but it is normal for parents to chose several godparents - it used to be 2 women and one man for one sex and the other way 2 men and a woman for the other but cant remember which is which, both my sisters got 2 pairs each - i only got one set of godparents and always felt a little cheated - especially as they were quite a bit older than my parents.

anytime you are asked to be a godparent it is a great honor and a big responsibility. I have two god daughters and my oldest has two god mothers... we have been honored to share our lives and our love with her. She is 18 now and we have had a active role in raising her and watching her grow into a young woman. She has not only a mother and two grandmothers she as two god mothers to turn too One can never have too many people looking out for you and one certainly can never have too much love.

It's traditional to have two of one, and one of the other. For a girl, you're meant to have two godfathers and one godmother, and vice versa.
