Yes it should be. Normally there is so much for the home and then so much for outside structures. Call your agent, they do not mind answering these kind of questions. That is what they are there for.

Generally, it is covered. Hence, it isn't specifically mentioned in your policy, you may speak to your insurance agent for more clarity.

Is my garage roof covered by my home insurance?

It is, its covered as a separate building on your property. At least it should be, if its NOT then you need to contact your insurance company.

Generally a detached garage increases how much coverage is in your policy. My mom's house burned a couple of years ago and the detached garage was covered under a clause stating XXXX amount for other structures on the property. These structures include your garage, or any tool sheds, etc...

A garage is usually considered to be an outbuilding. Check your policy again. If outbuildings are not mentioned, I suggest you get in touch with the Insurers to clarify your situation.

Depends on what the policy says, and what's wrong with the roof.

If a tree fell on it, or a storm damaged it, then it's probably covered. If the shingles are just 40 years old, and the place leaks like a sieve, then probably not. That sort of thing is covered under ordinary wear, and you're responsible for maintaining it.

the garage is part of the home that protects your other investment in insurances...your car...of course it is...you need to make sure that your insurance agent is able to answer that question, otherwise, you need to call a lawyer that specializes in Insurance Claims...good luck, but I don't think you have to worry...

Best phone them and check. We had to call our insurers today, surprise surprise, when the wind surgically removed the ridge tiles from our house roof. No problem - they authorised repairs immediately.

is your garage is separate from your house? if it is then its under your separate structures coverage, take at look at how much it is its usually 10% of your dwelling amount. also you may also call your homeowners ins agent to ask advice on filing a claim. ask is it worth it? and ask how much your premium will go up on renewal. good luck

In most cases yes. To be sure call your insurance agent. He's the man in this case. If you don't trust him/her, you have the wrong agent.

The garage is part of the house, and has the same coverage.
