Yes, no one goes to Germany or Mexico and expects to be spoken to in English, but so many come to America and expect us to accommodate them. If I was president I would say one condition for coming here is assimilation. Multiculturalism leads to division, and a divided country cannot stand. I'm not against diversity, but I am against everyone being separated because no one wants to assimilate into the American culture

I think that over the last 200 plus years we have a Customs our self that needs to be respected.. Things like the Atheists pushing to remove the 10 commandments and the Assault on the English language are just taking this great land down the wrong path.. these wars and perceived threats are taking our eye off the ball of what it is to be American

Respect should ALWAYS maintained while traveling to another country, and yes, we Americans would like to have the same courtesy.
For a good laugh, check out this essay regarding mutual respect titled "How NOT to Make Friends Abroad - The "Myth of the Ugly American" dated 02/26/06 at http://www.thebiasedopinion.blogspot.com/

As with most countries English is the language of business and education. And with Indonesia speaking English is a status symbol.
If someone comes here and breaks laws then they get punished. Our laws allow arent as strict as other countries. Here you can go door to door preaching christianity in other countries yes you might get whipped or worse for it.
I cite religion because that seems to be the main factor when dealing with the strictness of laws.
I think if you are polite everywhere and mind the laws you will be fine. Its when you take it upon yourself to get insensed at the lack of rights or abilities in places and try to change them.
Your not in america so you cant act like you are.
If your in Ameria and not in mexico or whereever then you cant act like you are either
I never said any different

Good question! I believe respect is a two-way street. Imagine moving to France and asking the French to make our language or custom theirs. They would not only laugh out-loud, they'd laugh while deporting us right back to America (where we should be if we want to be American).
I love my country and what it stands for, if you come here to live come as an American. Don't take from us and insist on living as you did. I respect your right to your religion, I respect your right to use your language and customs with your family at home, but once you step outside the door, you talk and walk like an American.

It should not be mandatory. It is a privilege
Learning English allows you to do business and fit into society. Just like being a Blue empowers you to a higher level.
Many people choose not to conform that is why God created the RedsState Party.

Yes I agree but the difference is we have the freedom to choose. In some islamic states people do not have that luxury. They are forced by strict laws and severly punnished if they dont comply..

Yes, we should expect the same in return, but it is not politically correct to think in this manner. PC says AMERICA is BAD.

You got that right. For starters, we're expected to become Latino speaking Muslims. What comes next?

Yes of course. But as Americans, if we stand up for ourselves, we're called proud, arrogant racists.
