Am I the only one who thinks American Idol is wrong for casting ppl that they know for a fact that CAN NOT sing?...and what's with the name calling?..Simon said some kid on the show-was weird looking and reminded him of some creature with bug EYES! in the jungles. This is the first time I watched American Idol more than 5 mins- Is this how the show is normally?..name calling and insulting others?

Give me a break! Haven't you figured out the formula yet? The first few weeks of shows are of auditions and OF COURSE they are going to show the worst of the worst, they pick the ones that they know stick out and will make people talk about how bad they were or how they thought they were just the best.
Guess what? IT is called RATINGS and Idol generated 37 million people watching on Tuesday night alone! The highest number for a FOX show ever...EVER...... and Fox has been around since the late 80's. So can you understand that they have a formula and it works and they will not change that?
Remember the show is edited. They don't show the ones who can actually sing, not until we end up in Hollywood.
People like to see losers, losers mean RATINGS and ratings mean MONEY

I enjoy watching Idol, have watched it since the beginning, but the audition round this season has really gone too far. I understand that many of the people who audition are doing it to be funny or get on TV, but the way the producers have chosen who to show and the way it is edited has made me seriously consider not watching the audition phase of the program.
However, The best part of the show is when it is down to the top 10. By then the judges have run out of insults and the singers who are left can actually sing and the show becomes an actual talent show. The first half, especially the auditions are for the viewers entertainment only.

It is one thing to tell someone they can't sing. They are there seeking a singing career. If they can't sing then by all means tell them as much. If you have to be cruel to get that point across then be cruel. However, I see no point or gain by telling someone their eyes are weird and that they look like a "bush baby". That has nothing to do with why the kid was there. That was being cruel for cruelty's sake and I'm very disappointed in Paula being all two faced during that kid's audition. She came across as mean spirited and she really did appear to be intoxicated.

I just cannot understand why Americans want to watch people get dragged down and **** on. That is all this show is doing. We are a sick society.

I agree; I voted for Kris understanding that Adam exchange into the better vocalist and has a occupation previous to him regardless of the end result. I enjoyed Kris' track from early on and did not have self belief he could win yet wanted him to so as that he could income self belief and have the bounce initiate that triumphing AI could grant him. i don't think Adam necessary the bounce initiate. triumphing isn't consistently the perfect element for the perfect performer, as then you definitely ought to furnish AI with a piece of your income over the subsequent year and are sure by using a settlement dictating what and once you may sing, leaving you constrained in inventive freedom. Adam definitely did not choose that, he's the main inventive we've had on the coach and desires to be waiting to be untethered. Kris exchange into by using some distance the better selection for my vote and could better than probably be the artist who's track i % to purchase.

No. It's not always name calling and insulting. This only happens during the audition stage. And I don't think those comments were insulting. The people who auditioned can't sing and are clearly wasting their time. And the judges were just telling them the truth about what they think of the contestants' singing. So, no, it was not insulting at all.

I love the show

Simon is a real dick-head. He and his colleague are definatley lacking social skills. And they are professional? Professional what? Insulters? Simon needs a good taste of the real world. Send him my way : )
Presentation is everything. He doesn't have to be so abrupt and cruel. A pleasant departure may fend well with the contestants.
I know I would become an introvert if he ever spoke to me that way. Like I said, presentation is everything. He's a dick-head.

They put the people on there who can not sing for ratings. This is just the try out round, the critisim will be through out the whole show, but Simon's critism brings in the ratings as well. But the show over all will get better. You may want to wait a few weeks when they have thier top twelve and then start looking at it.

Only the auditions are like this. Anyway, they sign a contract and if they don't want to risk being embarrassed on national television then they shouldn't try out. That particular monkey boy incident was Funny!! And that is just Simon's personality.

It is just for ratings. At least he did not try to sing like the cowardly lion. But that insult honestly was funny
