It does not make them scabby; it simply dries out your head/scalp and leaves it feeling dry and itchy which can lead to scabs if you keep scratching. Or perhaps you had a reaction to the RID and it may have irritated your scalp. Use a conditioner, something very thick and let it sit for a minute before rinsing out or use a leave in conditioner after showering.

Yes they do.Lice live off sucking your blood on your head and they leave open sores.So the sores are drying out and they become scabby.Use a good conditioner and comb the scabs off.Good luck.

I guess it could, maybe from all the itching you may have done. Remember never wear someone else's hat, use there hair clips or brushes etc.
