On average he's disliked, he makes the occasional screw-up on TV and in the papers that the media hound him for. There is also quite a lot of resentment being generated towards the monarchy themselves, which doesn't help his image. The whole Diana thing also had him in the dog house. However I believe that people can see that he is not malicious, and he works hard in embassadorial roles etc. for his country. But mention to anyone that he is the next in line once Lizzie pops it and there will always be a quiver down their backs as they try to picture King Charlie on a 5 pound note.

Prince Charles is the son of Queen Liz.
Hopefully our Queen will only leave the throne on the condition that Prince William sits on it!
Charles (or Spocky as he is derogatorily known) is a sad person with feet just smaller than his mouth.
This is a good thing though because he puts his feet into his mouth so often and it doesnt stretch out of shape.
The British (the ones that recognise the throne) are Elizabethans, we do not want to be Proper Charlies.
In short, I believe that Charles is suffered but not liked. His views are his own and not shared by any sane person. His comments are frankly, idiotic and show no sign of rational thought.
BUT, please remember, Charles is an English Prince.
He may be an inbred fool with ears that put 100 acres of corn to shame, BUT, he is OUR fool and whilst we don't think much of him, we expect the rest of the world to show at least a little respect.

I think many people answering this will give their opinion on the Royal Family as a whole, or the institution of the Monarchy, which is a different question entirely. People should look at the question more closely, this is just about the man, Charles Philip Arthur George Mountbatten-Windsor.
He tries to do his best to live his life the way he wants to while still being bound by traditions that are absolutely no fault of his own. For example, his recent re-marriage.
He's concerned about conservation, the environment, runs an organic farm, tries to preserve nature/wildlife etc and promote an interest in these things.
I think he is a good man, always polite and well-intentioned, and his behaviour is nothing but commendable.
As a person, I respect him.

He has no respect from a lot of Brits because of the way he treated Princess Diana and he needs major eye surgery to remove his beer goggles because he preferred that ugly old hag Camilla instead of Diana. He is an incompetent fool who bleats on about environmental issues, it would be nice if he was bypassed for the throne and Prince William was crowned king instead.

He is not the brightest of people but has good intentions, very good conservation ideas and contrary to what popular opinion says, will make a good king. I think his private thoughts on the way things are and the way government behaves will come to the fore when he is on the throne and he will give the PM of the day a lot of well deserved stick. And so he should.

I really dont think we should have a royal family because they dont really do anything for us. The government make all the dicisions for the country and we vote them in. How many other countries actually have a royal family. We pay taxes to pay for them to live, why should we, we have better things to use the taxes for. The NHS for one. They would get priority over us for an operation when they really arent that important.

Many don't really favour Prince Charles.
I mean, he cheated on Diana and his ears rival those of an elephant's.

Nice enough I suppose, a bit of a wally, a bit weak. I don't think he will make a good king and certainly won't measure up to Q.E.2.
